CALS Launching Saturdays at the Galleries

The weekends are for CALS and exploring the amazing variety of artisans that Arkansas has to offer. CALS is hosting “Saturdays at the Galleries,” a series of artist demonstrations at the CALS Galleries & Bookstore at Library Square. This free public event will be held each Saturday from May 28 through August 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is an opportunity for visitors to meet local artists as they demonstrate their skills and discuss their works. Each Saturday will feature a different artisan, with specialties such as painting, glass work, jewelry making, and even pickling.

All artists either have merchandise available for sale or are featured in the exhibitions at the Galleries & Bookstore. Schedule of artists below.

May 28: Diane Page Harper, collage

June 4: Ed Pennebaker, glass

June 11: Virmarie DePoyster, painting

June 18: Sereta Boson/Sarge’s Famous Pickles (she will be sampling her products)

June 25: Donna Dunnahoe, baskets/fiber weaving

July 2: Celia Storey, ceramics

July 9: Richard Prewitt, jewelry

July 16: Susan Strauss and Michelle Fox, jewelry

July 23: Roger Buchanan, wood

July 30: Marlene Gremillion, painting

August 6: Joe Martin, sculpting

August 13: Barbara Satterfield, ceramics; Deborah Kuster, fiber; Kristen Spickard, photography

August 20: Tim Jacob, painting

August 27: Honeyton Farms will bring an observational hive and discuss the art of honey production
