Join us this summer at your favorite library for reading, learning, and lots of fun activities.

Register online to log and track your reading to earn digital badges and the chance to win our weekly prize drawings! Everyone who registers will receive a free book bag while supplies last and free tickets to two Arkansas Travelers baseball games at Dickey-Stephens Park.

Each week of Summer @ CALS, our library branches will host fun events such as story-times, magic shows, concerts, arts & crafts, and STEM activities. There are programs for all ages (including adults)! Kids and teens who earn at least seven digital badges can earn a free book. Prize books can be picked up at any CALS branch from July 17-August 2.

Summer @ CALS – Music

Summer @ CALS offers a variety of musical fun, events are spread across the system and last the whole summer! The Kinder experience combines singing, dancing, laughing and learning; they perform feel-good tunes loaded with imagination. Musical comedians, mömandpöp are a husband and wife songwriting team that believe in the power of music and play to bring joy to everyday life. While Stephin Booth’s workshops promote unity, teamwork, self-confidence, and patience through teaching about various drums in Afro-Caribbean culture. Go to one event or try to catch them all; it’s always more fun when you know the words!

Summer @ CALS – Magic

The magic shows at Summer @ CALS are something you have to see to believe. Scott Davis’ unique combination of magic and comedy will leave you in stitches. Tommy Terrific’s Wacky Magic Show is a unique blend of laugh-out-loud comedy coupled with sensational magic, all combined with an educational approach that is all about having fun with books. Make sure to experience one of these shows, because before you know it, POOF, they’ll be gone!

Summer @ CALS is about learning while still having fun! Thanks to the help of the Clinton Presidential Library kids can learn about the importance of civic engagement and through the Innovation Hub, they can access hands-on crafts and technology like printmaking and working with clay.

Arkansas Travelers Tickets

Sign up for Summer @ CALS and receive TWO free tickets to ArkansasTravelers baseball games! Grab tickets for Tuesday, June 13, starting May 30, and Wednesday, August 2, starting July 17. Tickets can be picked up at CALS branches while supplies last.

Be Mighty Summer Meal Program

Kids and teens 18 and younger can receive free USDA meals through Be Mighty Little Rock and the Central Arkansas Library System. Summer meal service will begin on June 5, 2023 and go through August 12, 2023. Meals will be served Monday-Saturday at 11 library branches. All meals must be consumed on site.
