Full-Time Positions

LIBRARY SAFETY OFFICER – The Central Arkansas Library System is seeking a full-time (40 hrs. per week) library safety officer to work weekday hours, with some evenings at the Fletcher Library (823 N. Buchanan St., Little Rock, AR, 72205). The candidate should be outgoing, friendly, team-orientated, and enjoy working with all ages and have a customer service-oriented approach to public safety while working in a diverse and inclusive environment. Experience working with youth a plus. Essential duties include working closely with branch staff to solve challenges throughout the day and help diffuse various situations in a positive, courteous, and professional manner. Additional responsibilities include assisting patrons with information and assisting staff with public safety concerns. Must be able to stand, walk for extended periods of time, work indoors and outdoors. Some computer experience is required and must have and maintain a valid driver’s license. Spanish language skills a plus, but not required. Pay starts at $16.11 and includes excellent benefits such as medical, dental, vision, company paid pension, life insurance, paid time off and holiday pay. ELECTRONIC RESOURCES LIBRARIAN — The Central Arkansas Library System is seeking a full-time (40 hours/week) Electronic Resources Librarian in its Information Service Department. Reporting to the Information Services Department Manager, the Electronic Resources Librarian works collaboratively in a team environment to manage the library’s electronic resources. The librarian oversees selection and activation of resources, setting up vendors as access providers, and verifying and monitoring electronic content. The librarian plays a lead role in troubleshooting access. Additionally, the librarian manages bibliographic access to electronic resources, oversees trials of new resources, and works with digital literacy and communications staff to maximize patron usage of these resources. Master’s degree in library science, or equivalent library experience, required. Salary range starts at $21.23 with excellent benefits such as medical, dental, vision, company paid pension, life insurance, paid time off, and holiday pay. Part-Time Positions

LIBRARY CLERK – Part-time 20 hours/week public service position at the Fletcher Library (823 N. Buchanan St., Little Rock, AR 72205).  Seeking energetic, customer service-oriented applicant with exceptional sorting ability, great attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.  Essential duties include shelving items, shelf reading, emptying book bins, working the circulation desk, and answering patron questions.  Must be able to stand for long periods, push and pull at least 50 lbs., lift, squat, and work every Saturday.
