Fill the Fridge Friday in July
Be Mighty, a partnership between CALS and City of Little Rock, Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance, AdClub Little Rock, and Little Rock School District, that aims to provide free meals to kids and teens in Little Rock. Many CALS locations serve as meal sites where kids can have lunch during the summer or snacks after school. Additionally, ten CALS locations have Free Little Pantries where non-perishable items are available for anyone to take as needed. As this program has expanded, several branches have grown to include refrigerators and can now distribute perishable items.
Beginning Friday, July 7th, and every Friday in July, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Be Mighty will be hosting “Fill the Fridge Friday” at Nixon and McMath libraries. Patrons who donate either 5 non-perishable items or 3 perishable items will receive a raffle ticket to win a gift basket.
