Every March, we pause to celebrate Women’s History Month, a time dedicated to honoring the pioneers, glass-ceiling breakers, and everyday heroes who have shaped the course of human events. While it officially became a national observance in 1987, the movement actually took root in 1978 as a local “Women’s History Week” in Santa Rosa, California.

As 2025 draws to a close, I want to extend my holiday greetings and pause to reflect on the momentous events at CALS over the past 12 months.

Comcast NBCUniversal has awarded a $55,000 grant to the Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) Foundation to support the CALS Digital Literacy Guides Program, which helps residents strengthen their digital skills and access the resources they need to succeed in an increasingly connected world.
