Library Lovers Month

What’s your library story?

February is Library Lovers Month, and we’re celebrating the role CALS plays in our community. Whether you’ve found your next favorite book, attended a program, used our technology resources, or simply found a quiet place to work or study—your library has been here for you.

Libraries are the beating heart of a community. We provide free access to services and resources thanks to public funding, and we’re committed to being a place where everyone feels heard, supported, and connected.

Share Your Library Love

We want to hear why you love your library! Share your story on social media:

  • Post a photo of your favorite library spot or your current read
  • Share a memory of a program or service that made a difference
  • Tag us and use #LibraryLoversMonth and #CALSLove
  • Tell us: What does your library mean to you?

We’ll be sharing your posts throughout February. Let’s spread the library love!

The Journey of a Book

Every book has a journey. At the Central Arkansas Library System, that journey goes far beyond the author’s words on the page. Our collection development managers carefully evaluate, select, and maintain nearly 800,000 items so our shelves reflect and serve the whole community.

This video, created in partnership with Stone Ward, tells the story of how a book becomes part of CALS — and why libraries remain sanctuaries for voices, ideas, and freedom.

Discover the full journey of a book, and see how your library is built for everyone.
