Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood Sweater Drive Partnership with Arkansas PBS

CALS is proud to partner with Arkansas PBS to host the Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood Sweater Drive. This drive is a tribute to Fred Rogers and his example of being a caring neighbor. Those who have watched Mister Rogers may be familiar with his tradition of changing into a sweater and sneakers as the show started.

November 5 through 30, members of the community are asked to donate new or gently worn sweaters and other cold-weather clothing (like gloves, coats and scarves). These items can be dropped off at any of the 15 CALS locations. The items collected during this drive will be donated to local charities including Salvation Army Central Arkansas and River City Ministry.

“Fred Rogers’ cardigan sweater has come to represent the gentle spirit, warmth and nurturing of the neighborhood,” Arkansas PBS CEO Courtney Pledger said. “Arkansas PBS is proud to further his legacy by working with outstanding library and charity partners across the state through the Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood Sweater Drive.”

CALS is one of more than 45 libraries across Arkansas participating in this year’s statewide Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood Sweater Drive. A complete list of libraries and additional information is available at myarpbs.org/sweaterdrive.
