Math tutors needed for Count UP program
Count UP Math Tutoring Program was launched at the end of 2020 and aims to pair qualified, trained volunteers with children in grades K-12 who need assistance with real-time math tutoring. Currently there are 80 students who have filled out forms to join the tutoring program and are waiting for their tutor match. At the moment, students can participate in one-on-one scheduled online tutoring sessions. As the program moves forward, group tutoring sessions will be available and be arranged by grade level and learning style. As we move through the year, we tentatively anticipate transitioning to in-person tutoring as allowed.
There is an immediate need for tutors. Volunteers should have strong math skills and/or a teaching background. Volunteers should be over the age of 16 and will need to pass a background check and undergo training to be a part of this program. Currently, volunteers should expect to commit to a minimum of two one-hour Zoom-based tutoring sessions per week.
Volunteers interested in tutoring can fill out this form.
