RBdigital Moving to OverDrive Effective September 15

RBdigital, one of the companies that provides digital content to CALS, has been purchased by OverDrive, another library content provider. Ebooks and audiobooks from the CALS RBdigital collection will be moving to Overdrive and no longer be available on the RBdigital platform.

With the Libby app from OverDrive, you will still be able to browse, borrow, and enjoy all the same great content you loved in the RBdigital app. Plus, OverDrive and its content can be accessed in a browser on any mobile device or computer. If you have already been enjoying OverDrive or the Libby app, there will be no change other than even more great titles available to borrow! Access to other RBdigital content (The Great Courses, Hoonuit, etc.) will continue to be accessible through RBdigital during the transition. Please note that the RBdigital unlimited collection will only be available in Overdrive until December 31, 2020.

What you can do to prepare:

Download the Libby app for your Android or iOS device, or the OverDrive app for your Kindle Fire. Need help? CALS Librarians can help walk you through the process or you can view the online tutorial.

Holds will not transfer from RBdigital to Libby or OverDrive and will need to be replaced. By exporting your transaction history, you can capture information about the titles you have on hold and on your wish lists. Export your transaction history from the Profiles section of the RBdigital app, then place holds on those titles again in Libby or OverDrive.

If you currently have a book checked out in the RBdigital app, it will be available through the remainder of the lending period, so you can finish your title without disruption or risk of losing your place in the book!
