Earlier this year, CALS announced that Main Library would be closing temporarily to undergo an extensive renovation. That change created a domino effect of moves and adjustments, including (but not limited to) the closing of the Galleries & Bookstore so that Main Library services could move into that space (read about the move here).
April 16-22 is Volunteer Appreciation Week and CALS wants to express a huge THANK YOU to our wonderful volunteers. Friends of the Library Week is October 16 – 22. “Friends of the Library” are individuals who purchase annual memberships and those dues go toward funding some important programming, like the book festival, book club kits and some of the Arkansas Sounds Concerts. At the Central Arkansas Library System, we call them Friends of CALS.

Even though our doors are closed to the public to protect your health, we still see our volunteers who are distributing grab-and-go meals every day at some of our library locations. Their cheerful and generous service shows the spirit that motivates our volunteers throughout our community.
