To better serve our patrons, on the morning of Friday, August 17, CALS will update the software that supports our catalog and allows patrons to log in to various digital libraries,

Due to an unforeseen maintenance issue, CALS Dee Brown Library’s hours of operation will be Monday-Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., beginning Monday, August 6. Patron HOLDS will remain on the shelf 10 days instead of the normal 7 days to allow patrons additional time to pick up their items.

Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) and the American Association of Retired People (AARP) Arkansas will collaborate on a four-part Fraud Watch Network Series for the public to highlight the tools fraud and scam artists use to deceive citizens.

The Central Arkansas Library System’s (CALS) Max Milam Library, 609 Aplin Avenue, Perryville, will celebrate its 25th anniversary on Saturday, July 21, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.

The anniversary celebration includes a Sounds in the Stacks concert featuring vocalist and pianist Michael Heavner at 1:00 p.m.

Registration is open for Central Arkansas Library System’s Summer Reading Club.  Bibliophiles of all ages can participate in the music-themed reading program designed to celebrate the ways that “libraries rock.”  Registration is free and available online at cals.beanstack.org.

CALS has renamed the Arkansas Studies Institute (ASI) the Bobby L. Roberts Library of Arkansas History and Art in honor of the former CALS executive director who served in the position for more than twenty years before retiring in 2016.
