Check Out Both
When it comes to that new hobby or your child’s latest fascination, we know CALS is at the top of the list for that deep dive into any topic big or small. We’re reimagining the public library and you get to recreate your library experience. Did you know that when you check out a book about the elusive ivory-billed woodpecker you can also leave with a birdwatching kit? From fishing guides and fishing poles to mechanic publications and socket wrenches, the next time you visit a CALS branch, make sure to check out both.

Rewriting Success
CALS is so much more than buildings packed with books; the library is filled with knowledgeable staff who provide services to help you reach your full potential. We start with the basics like computers and Wi-Fi access that stretches to our parking lots and outdoor spaces and can help take you as high as your dreams with the Rock It! Lab entrepreneurial hub and one-on-one tech consultations with our team of Digital Literacy Guides. Whether your sights are set on joining the ranks of the Fortune 500 or just organizing a neighborhood meeting, we’re here to help you redefine what success means to you.

Reimagining Events
When you look to renew an interest, CALS has more events than you can shake a book at. As a member of the Library Speakers Consortium, CALS provides virtual access to nationally acclaimed authors, while the Six Bridges Book Festival brings them right here to the capital city. Our book clubs offer an opportunity to join a book community, while our book club kits give you the freedom to start your own. Summer @ CALS takes the time away from school and helps kids focus on learning in a fun and imaginative way. Get in, get out, get reconnected with an event series at CALS.

Redefining Community
If community is what you make it, ours is packed with support and assistance that ranges from math tutoring for children to free access to transportation. Be Mighty Little Rock helps address food insecurity while our Lawyers in the Library partnership brings valuable resources to individuals who may need it the most, all without costing you a dime. Our Books by Mail program helps open up worlds of discovery to those with limited mobility but limitless imagination. Community has different significance and meaning depending on who you ask, so whether community to you is the person handing you a book or a helping hand, you can find it at CALS.
