Fletcher Library offers patrons much more than traditional library fare; the facility received recognition from the Arkansas Institute for Architects. Patrons have a wide selection of adult and children’s books as well as CDs and DVDs. The 13,500-square-feet library opened in 1996 and provides access to public meeting rooms and programs for all ages.

Memory Cafe is a coffee social for older adults experiencing symptoms of dementia and their care partners.  Please join us for snacks, socializing, and a special crafting activity (canvas paintings with painters tape) in a welcoming, stigma free environment! If you are a care partner/caregiver caring for more than one person, please call first. This program is not designed to be a group outing for memory care facilities

Total Solar Eclipse: The Arkansas Experience

Join the Central Arkansas Astronomical Society Eclipse Team for a presentation on the spectacular solar eclipse coming to Arkansas next year! Learn a bit of history about eclipses in Arkansas, why an eclipse occurs, and what to expect during the total solar eclipse of April 8th, 2024. Most importantly learn how to safely view an eclipse.

Presenters are Carl Freyaldenhoven, a retired science teacher who has been to six solar eclipses, and Darcy Howard, a retired science illustrator with a special interest in eclipses and solar astronomy.
