Tobacco-Free Workplace

It is the policy of the Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) to curtail the use of tobacco and nicotine delivery products on its property. This policy is implemented both to minimize the exposure of employees and patrons to secondhand smoke and other contaminants, and to limit the litter that occurs because of the improper disposal of tobacco products. This policy shall apply to all employees and other persons entering any property owned or operated by CALS.

For purposes of this policy, tobacco and nicotine delivery products include, but are not limited to, cigarettes, cigars, and pipes; snuff, chewing tobacco or any similar product made from tobacco; and electronic cigarettes, cigars, and pipes. Not included are nicotine patches, chewing gum, and other smoking cessation aids regulated by the United States Food and Drug Administration.
