New Look for CALS Terry Library: Services Disrupted for Two-Week Renovation
The library branch will remain open with portions of the building unavailable
Little Rock, AR—The Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) has announced that Adolphine Fletcher Terry Library, 2015 Napa Valley Drive, will undergo light renovations beginning at the end of July and will have new floors installed starting July 31. The interior of the building recently got a fresh coat of paint. CALS anticipates the project taking approximately two weeks to complete.
During the majority of the renovation, the library will remain open but will have sections of the building unavailable as the floors are replaced. At the end of the project, the library will be closed to replace the flooring in the entryway. This closure time will be determined by the overall progress of the project.
CALS is suggesting patrons make alternate arrangements during this time. The 24-hour book locker at Terry will continue to be available, as will holds picked up within the branch. Holds may experience slight delays as staff members work around the construction. Computer access may be limited or completely unavailable depending on the area of the library being worked on. Study rooms will be unavailable for the duration of the project. Patrons should consider visiting the nearby Thomson Library, 38 Rahling Circle, or Fletcher Library, 823 N. Buchanan Street, for those services.
Terry Library is one of four branches open on Sunday; patrons needing library services that day should visit Dee Brown Library, McMath Library, or Sanders Library.
Terry Library is one of several CALS locations getting smaller upgrades, including Dee Brown Library, McMath Library, Bobby L. Roberts Library, and the CALS Ron Robinson Theater. Renovations for these locations, including the recently reopened Williams and the ongoing Main project were made possible because of a successful 2022 referendum in Little Rock that authorized the extension and reduction of the capital-improvement millage. Additional locations are receiving updates through a deferred maintenance budget, including a new HVAC system at Milam Library and a new roof at Maumelle Library.
