FACILITIES ELECTRICIAN – Central Arkansas Library System is seeking a full-time facilities electrician to install and maintain the wiring and control equipment through which electricity flows for all public library facilities. High school diploma or equivalent, valid AR driver’s license, and current electrician license required. Other requirements include must be able to lift up to 70 lbs, stand for long periods of time and have basic computer skills.  Candidate must also be able to work in team-oriented, task-sharing environment. Other duties as assigned.  Salary range starts at $16.19/hr. with excellent benefits. RENOVATION CONSTRUCTION SPECIALIST – Central Arkansas Library System is seeking a full time skilled renovation technician with painting/carpentry/drywall skills, capable of performing small remodel jobs, to maintain/repair 19 public library facilities.  High school diploma or equivalent, valid AR driver’s license with clean driving record, 5 years construction experience, 2 years supervisory experience, and knowledge of a specialized field or combination of equivalent education and experience. Must have the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner, be able to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 70 lbs., push, pull, and squat.  Basic computer skills, detail oriented, and the ability to work in a team-oriented, task sharing environment is essential.  Other duties as assigned.  Salary range starts at $16.19/hr, depending on experience, with excellent benefits.  Submit resume and application, including names and phone numbers for 3 professional references to Chuck Hall at maintenancejobs@cals.org. Part-Time Positions

RECEIVING CLERK – Central Arkansas Library System is seeking a part-time 25 hour/week receiving clerk to work in the mailroom at the Main Library.  Essential duties include operation and maintenance of postage machine (MailOne software); receiving, sorting, and posting of mail for 14 branches; preparing mail and packages for pickup by USPS; assisting maintenance and patrons with loading and unloading items at receiving dock; preparing UPS shipments and transporting packages and freight around Library Square.  Candidate must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time and must be able to lift, push and pull 70 lbs. Computer experience required.  Work hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am-1pm. Salary range starting at $10.78/hr. LIBRARY CLERK – Part-time 20 hours/week public service position in the Patron Services department at the Main Library. Seeking energetic, customer service-oriented applicant with exceptional sorting ability, great attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. Essential duties include shelving items, shelf reading, emptying book bins, working circulation desk, and answering patron questions. Must be able to stand long periods of time, push and pull at least 50 lbs., lift, squat and work Tuesday and Thursday 4pm-8pm, Wednesday 9am-1pm, and Friday and Saturday 2pm-6pm. LIBRARY ASSISTANT – Part-time 20 hours/week public service position at the Main Library, in the Youth Services Department. We are seeking a dynamic and energetic applicant with great customer service skills. Essential duties include checking materials in and out, answering patron questions, registering patrons for library cards, information searching and shelving. Experience working with children and/or young adults is a must. Familiarity with technology, digital media, gaming systems and games, and ability to do instructional assistance on devices preferred. Applicants must be available to work primarily late afternoons and evenings as well as Saturday. Salary range starts at $10.78 per hour.
