TEEN PROGRAMMER   Full time public service position at the Main Library, in the Level 4 Teen Center of the Youth Services Department. Seeking a dynamic and energetic teen programmer to provide programming for children ages 12-19, special events, and outreach. In addition to programming, the employee will be responsible for coordinating teen volunteers, tracking volunteer hours, and further developing the teen volunteer program. The employee must demonstrate excellent customer service to library patrons of all ages, attend all training inservices and travel to and from outreach visits. Ideal candidate will be team oriented, have experience working with teens, and have some knowledge of young adult literature as well as video games and gaming platforms. Some evenings and weekends are required. Salary range starts at $12.32 per hour with excellent benefits. LIBRARY SPECIALIST/SYSTEM SERIALS MANAGER   Full-time 40 hours/week public service position at the Main Library in the Information Services Department. Seeking a motivated, enthusiastic applicant with excellent customer skills and great attention to detail. Essential duties includes training new and existing staff on serials management, managing the Serials collection for the system, binding collections of periodicals as needed, checking materials in and out, answering patron questions, registering patrons for library cards, information searching and shelving. Familiarity with technology, digital media, and ability to do instructional assistance on devices preferred. Candidate must be technology savvy, willing to work with a diverse staff and have prior experience working in a library. Schedule will include some nights and weekends. ADULT PROGRAMMER – Full-time public service position at Thompson Library. Seeking energetic, flexible, team-oriented applicant with a strong commitment to public service to create and implement adult programs and provide outreach to those in our service area. Responsibilities include planning in-branch and outreach programs for adults, creating displays, designing printed and digital materials and promotions, working public service desk, answering patron questions, information searching, and shelving. Excellent communication, technology and customer service skills are required. Must be able to work well with adults and children, and cooperatively with staff and public. Experience with adult programming, familiarity with adult literature and popular media desirable. Must be able to work some nights and weekends, travel to outreach events, push, pull and lift at least 25 lbs. without assistance.  Pay range starts at $12.32 per hour.  Submit resume and application to: Delphine Durst, thompsonlibraryjobs@cals.org.  This position closes October 21.

SECURITY GUARD – Full-time security guard position available at the Central Arkansas Library System. Seeking friendly, team-orientated applicants with a strong interest in public safety.  Candidate is expected to help diffuse various situations in a positive, courteous and professional manner as well as assist staff with after school kids of all ages.  Additional responsibilities include assisting patrons with information and assisting staff with security concerns.  Shift work required to include evenings and weekends.  Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time and travel between branches. Some computer experience required.  Salary range starts at $12.32/hour plus excellent benefits.  Submit application and resume to Chris Ketterman securityjobs@cals.org by Friday, October 18.
