BRANCH MANAGER – Hillary Rodham Clinton Children’s Library and Learning Center – The Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) is seeking a full-time, team-oriented, experienced librarian to lead our Children’s Library and Learning Center. The facility and extensive grounds include a teaching kitchen, greenhouse, garden and urban farming space, recording studio, and other spaces for creativity and hands-on learning—as well as the traditional library spaces. This library serves a diverse population from across Little Rock. Candidates must possess strong customer service and interpersonal skills and an enthusiasm for working with people of all ages and backgrounds. Responsibilities include administering day-to-day library operations; training, supervising, and evaluating staff; overseeing and coordinating programming; and proactive outreach to the community. An ALA-accredited MLS or comparable degree, or significant work towards such a degree, is required. Candidate must have at least 3 years library supervisory experience. Schedule may include some nights and weekends. Starting pay range is $50,336 and includes excellent benefits such as medical, dental, vision, company paid pension and life insurance. ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST – Central Arkansas Library System is seeking a full-time, organized and detail-oriented accounting specialist to provide accounting assistance. The accounting specialist will analyze information, maintain complete and accurate records and assist with routine accounting duties. This position requires strong research, communication and computer skills. Essential duties include counting, reconciling, and preparing deposits for all transactions from all of CALS departments and branches, working with branch and retail employees to troubleshoot reconciliation of cash registers, providing support for employee timesheet usage and/or troubleshooting, enrolling and maintaining employee retirement benefits, assisting with the preparation and research of bank reconciliations and assisting in the preparation of payroll. Other duties as assigned. Interested candidate should preferably have an associate degree in Accounting or a related field or the equivalent accounting experience, plus 2 years general work experience. GRAPHIC DESIGNER – The Central Arkansas Library System seeks a Full-time Graphic Designer to design materials to promote CALS’s branches, departments, and services in digital and print media. The Graphic Designer will work as part of a creative team and will assist in all aspects of creative projects and responsibilities, including advertising, landing page graphics, social media content, newsletters, presentations, reports, promotional material, and other key visual elements. The Graphic Designer will also assist with planning and implementation of library events. Other duties as assigned. Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite or other similar design software. Two years’ experience and a bachelor’s degree in communications, art, film/video production, journalism, television production, media arts or related area. LIBRARY CLERK – Part-time 20 hours/week public service position at the Sanders Library. Temporary, Seasonal, & Contract Positions

ROCK IT! LAB VISTA MEMBER – fulltime/30 hours per week at Rock it! Lab (Library Square’s Cox building). Seeking a service-oriented individual with strong writing and communication skills to support entrepreneurship within under-resourced communities of Central Arkansas by researching how other organizations successfully integrate groups with varying language, racial, cultural, and economic differences cohesively into their programming and foster a sense of community and equal learning and growth amongst all participants while doing so. The VISTA member will identify the strengths and challenges of Rock It! Lab. The VISTA will research organizations that successfully integrate groups with varying backgrounds cohesively into their programming and foster a sense of community and equal learning and growth among all participants. The Rock it! Lab VISTA will identify best practices for integrating groups with varying backgrounds cohesively into programming while fostering a sense of community and equal learning and growth among participants. The VISTA will develop a recommended plan for Rock It! Lab. This VISTA member will report to the Rock it! Lab coordinator. Applicants should hold a four-year degree in business, computer science, English, journalism, communications, marketing, or similar field. The applicant should be self-motivated, possess strong writing skills, and enjoy working independently. The applicant should have experience with MS Office Suite, project planning, and individual research. VISTA members receive a $12,490 living allowance and have the option between receiving a $6,195 education award or $1,800 end of service stipend.
