PURCHASING AGENT – The Central Arkansas Library System is seeking a full-time purchasing agent. Essential duties include reviewing requisitions, selecting, ordering and sorting supplies, preparing purchase orders, conducting inventory and delivering materials to appropriate departments. Other duties include entering requisitions into database, print library forms, maintain accounting paperwork archives, and assist the accounting department as necessary. Candidate should have knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as Word Processing and Excel, 2 years of related experience and/or training, and be able to push and pull at least 70lbs. with assistance of a cart and be able to bend, squat and lift. Seeking an AmeriCorps VISTA to serve as a USDA Meal Specialist for twelve months. The USDA Meal Specialist will be responsible for sustaining services to low-income patrons by exploring a CALS sponsored USDA meal program. Member activities include conduct a pre-assessment of CALS’s food assistance programs; refine policies and procedures for CALS USDA meal programs; research food procurement options in the area; and explore electronic record keeping options. Applicants should have excellent communication and organization skills, be able to develop staff training manual and staff training workshops as well as maintain an electronic database.
