September is Library Card Sign-up Month!
Since 1987, September has been Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries nationwide join together to remind parents, caregivers, and students that signing up for a library card is the first step towards academic achievement and lifelong learning.
We hope you’ll show your support for public libraries and the important work they do in our communities on both sides of the river by participating in the “Bookworm Bargains” program.
CALS and NLRPLS are working together to celebrate Library Card Signup Month in a big way. We are asking local businesses to participate by helping add more value to an already valuable card (a library card). During the month of September, anyone who comes into participating businesses and presents their library card (either from CALS or NLRPLS) will receive a discount or special deal.
