Amy Sanders Library

About Sanders Library

The Central Arkansas Library System and the City of Sherwood completed construction of the new Amy Sanders Library in early 2018. The new building has 14,500 square feet of space on a heavily wooded 15-acre parcel. The setting of the building is within the existing trees and steep terrain to enhance the uniqueness of the site, bringing the outside in.

Point of Interest

Amy Sanders

Amy Sanders was a longtime city clerk for the City of Sherwood (Pulaski County), which named its new Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) branch library in her honor in 1989. A new library building that opened in Sherwood in 2018 retained the name. When informed that the new building would once more bear her name, Sanders told reporters: “I thought I had that honor for 29 years. I would have been fine if they wanted to give it to someone else.”
