CALS Remembers Ron Robinson
Local businessman and philanthropist Ron Robinson has passed away. Shortly before its opening, Mr. Robinson described his excitement about future of the CALS Ron Robinson Theater named after him:
This new River Market landmark is a true gift to all the citizens of The Natural State since it will be a world-class showplace to showcase the best of the best. With aims for entertainments, for education, and for inspiring excellence, this theater contributes a magnificent new resource to Greater Little Rock and Arkansas through its elegant design, flexible use, and state-of-the-art capabilities. I feel like the luckiest man on the planet to have this theater named after me.
CALS was honored to name the Ron Robinson Theater after the larger-than-life figure and friend of the library who loved films and all things Arkansas. If you ever met him, you would never forget him; and he never forgot you. We’re going to miss Ron, his stories, and his curious nature. We send heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.
