Arkansas Sounds Presents: Randy Goodrum – The Stories Behind the Songs

CALS celebrates 10 years of Ron Robinson Theater with return performance

Little Rock, AR—The Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) is proud to welcome back to the Ron Robinson Theater stage, 100 River Market Ave., Arkansasnative, Randy Goodrum on Saturday, July 27 at 8:00 p.m. Goodrum is a legendary songwriter, pianist, producer, and performer. This Grammy nominated musician has written number one songs in each of the four decades since his first number one hit, 1978’s “You Needed Me” and been inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Goodrum might be best known for putting words in other people’s mouths, his reach expands across top 40, adult contemporary, country, rock, jazz and R&B radio. Goodrum is also equally adept at providing an accompanying melody. His songs have been recorded by more than 100 brand-name acts: Kenny Rogers, Barry Manilow, Natalie Cole, Olivia Newton-John, Tammy Wynette, Ray Charles, Dusty Springfield, Gladys Knight, Patti Austin, and Dottie West to name a few.
