McMath Library needs your help filling the prom closet!

McMath Library is requesting donations of new or gently used items for their prom dress drive. Donations will be accepted now until March 17. Please drop off items at the Sidney S. McMath Library at 2100 John Barrow Road in Little Rock.

Requested items include prom dresses, cocktail dresses, shoes, jewelry, and any accessories that might help create the perfect prom look. All sizes are accepted and needed.

On Saturday, March 19, 9 a.m. – 6p.m., teens in need of items are invited to come “shop” the prom closet.

“We want every young lady to have the opportunity to find the right dress so she can have the prom of her dreams and make it a night to remember,” said Tracey Eatmon, Assistant Manager at McMath Library.

This is the third year that McMath will host this event. In 2019, the last time the event was held due to the pandemic, around 300 dresses were donated and more than 240 people attended the shopping event. Eatmon encourages everyone to donate because it increases the opportunity for prom goers to find something in the right size that fits their personal style.

McMath Library hours are Monday, 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.; Tuesday through Saturday 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. For more information, contact Tracey at teatmon@cals.org.
