Branch manager named “Sherwood Woman of the Year”

Ginann Swindle is the branch manager of the Amy Sanders Library. She has worked for the Central Arkansas Library System for twenty-six years.  Ginann grew up in North Little Rock and Searcy, Arkansas, and attended Harding Academy and Harding University.  After graduation she accepted a job with the Jonesboro Public Library as Mobile Outreach Librarian.  In the early 1980’s she and her husband, Tony, moved to Sherwood.  Ginann taught in the Pulaski County Special School District prior to going to work for CALS.

As a librarian she has seen many changes in the Sherwood community and the library.  Her favorite aspect of librarianship is the children.  She is a familiar face at the schools, daycares, local festivals, and professional development presentations. Under her leadership, the Amy Sanders Library has seen tremendous growth in its Summer Reading Program, she helped facilitate a recent new building opening, and has created a micro library store within the branch.

Her dedication to the city and community knows no bounds; she is passionate about her job and how it relates to the community. Ginann loves the Sherwood community; her children were raised in Sherwood, played ball in Sherwood. Ginann is proud to call the City of  Sherwood her home and she shows it every day. And CALS is proud to have her as part of our team; Congratulations Ginann!
