LIBRARY ASSISTANT – Part-time 20 hours/week. Fletcher Library is seeking an engaged, adaptable, and service-minded individual to join our team. This is a front-line customer service position at a fast-paced, people-focused, community library and requires excellent communication, attention to detail, and technology skills. Applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to teamwork and creating a supportive and inclusive work culture. Duties include working the public service desk; assisting patrons in finding, requesting, and checking out library materials both in person and over the phone; helping patrons access digital materials and mobile printing services on their personal devices; providing support and basic troubleshooting for patrons using public computers; organizing and shelving library materials; assisting with afterschool meal distribution; and performing a variety of day-to-day circulation-related tasks. This position requires a nonjudgmental attitude, emotional resilience, and the ability to balance compassion with clear boundaries. Every other Saturday required. Spanish language skills a plus. AFTER-SCHOOL LIBRARY CLERK – Part-time (15 hours/week) public service position at the Amy Sanders Library (10200 Johnson DR, Sherwood, AR 72120). Essential duties include: supporting library staff by enforcing rules of conduct and expectations with after-school crowds, assisting with Be Mighty meal service, and assisting library visitors with general inquiries. Must be able to stand for long periods, push and pull at least 50 lbs., lift, and squat. Scheduled hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 3pm-6pm during the regular school year and 10am-1pm during the summer months. Temporary / Seasonal Positions
SUMMER YOUTH PROGRAMMERS – part-time positions (20 hours/week) – Central Arkansas Library System seeks high energy applicants to plan and implement early literacy programs for young children across our fourteen-branch library system as well as hands-on activities for elementary-age students in libraries and through outreach to summer programs. Ideal candidates will have experience or training in working with children in an educational or enrichment setting.
