Full-Time Positions

BRANCH MANAGER – The Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) is seeking a full-time, team-oriented, experienced librarian to lead our Hillary Rodham Clinton Children’s Library and Learning Center, located at 4800 West 10th Street, Little Rock, AR 72204. The facility and extensive grounds include a teaching kitchen, greenhouse, garden and urban farming space, and other spaces for creativity and hands-on learning—as well as the traditional library and meeting spaces. This library serves a diverse population from across Little Rock. Candidates must possess strong customer service and interpersonal skills and an enthusiasm for working with people of all ages and backgrounds. Responsibilities include administering day-to-day library operations; training, supervising, and evaluating staff; overseeing and coordinating programming; and proactive outreach to the community. An ALA-accredited MLS or comparable degree, or significant work towards such a degree, is required. Candidates must have at least 3 years of library supervisory experience. Schedule may include some nights and weekends. Starting pay range is $55,307 and includes excellent benefits such as medical, dental, vision, company paid pension and life insurance. Part-Time Positions

AFTER-SCHOOL LIBRARY CLERK – Part-time (15 hours/week) public service position at the Amy Sanders Library (10200 Johnson DR, Sherwood, AR 72120). Essential duties include: supporting library staff by enforcing rules of conduct and expectations with after-school crowds, assisting with Be Mighty meal service, and assisting library visitors with general inquiries. Must be able to stand for long periods, push and pull at least 50 lbs., lift, and squat. Scheduled hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 3pm-6pm during the regular school year and 10am-1pm during the summer months. Salary range starts at $15.00 per hour and benefits include holiday pay and eligibility to participate in the CALS 457 retirement plan. To apply, please complete the online application. Temporary / Seasonal Positions

SUMMER YOUTH PROGRAMMERS – part-time positions (20 hours/week) – Central Arkansas Library System seeks high energy applicants to plan and implement early literacy programs for young children across our fourteen-branch library system as well as hands-on activities for elementary-age students in libraries and through outreach to summer programs. Ideal candidates will have experience or training in working with children in an educational or enrichment setting.
