Free Legal Information is Available with “Lawyers in the Library”

Little Rock, AR – The Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) and the Center for Arkansas Legal Services have once again teamed up to offer Lawyers in the Library. This free series of events provides the opportunity to hear from lawyers on several topics at no cost to the attendees.

“We are delighted to continue our collaboration with the Central Arkansas Library System, extending our team’s presence into the heart of our communities through a reliable and esteemed community resource,” said Amber Quaid, Communications Director for the Center for Arkansas Legal Services. “The ongoing initiative of ‘Lawyers in the Library,’ which provides legal aid across Arkansas for matters such as Medicaid, evictions, record sealing, and more, serves as a testament to our joint dedication in supporting and improving our community.”

Topics also include public benefits, such as SNAP and SSI. These presentations will be followed up by a brief Q&A session where one of Legal Services’ staff attorneys can answer general questions attendees may have and explain what options are available if more personalized help is needed. The series will conclude with a record-sealing clinic (pre-registration is required to ensure a spot for this event).

“We are proud to have this limited series here at CALS,” said Mark Christ Head of Adult Programming at CALS. “For many of the patrons we serve, this access is invaluable. This is our sixth year with this partnership, and we want as many people as possible to know their rights when it comes to these oftentimes confusing legal matters.”
