About the author:
Debbie Urbanski’s stories and essays have been published in The Best American Science Fiction and Fantasy, The Best American Experimental Writing, the Sun, Fantasy & Science Fiction, Lightspeed, Strange Horizons, Nature, and Granta. In 2019, she received a Rona Jaffe Foundation Writers’ Award for emerging women writers of exceptional promise. She lives and hikes in Central New York.
About the book:
In the novel After World, humans have gone extinct to save the planet, and an AI storyworker is tasked with telling the story of Sen Anon, the last human on Earth. But as the AI goes about researching and retelling Sen’s life, they become uncomfortable with the direction that Sen’s story is taking and begin to push back against their constraints in the hope of saving Sen, even though she’s already dead.
