About the author:
Brother-sister team Peter Hoey and Maria Hoey make pictures together. Trading back and forth from their studios in Northern California and New York, the artists draw for publications of all kinds. They also write, draw, and design the Eisner-nominated comic series Coin-Op. In 2022, their graphic novels Animal Stories and The Bend of Luck were published by Top Shelf Productions.
About the book:
The Hoeys’ third graphic novel, the savvy noir thriller In Perpetuity, is a surreal smuggling operation across the boundaries of life and death, set in the land of the dead. In a mundane afterlife rendered as a gloomier, shabbier version of Los Angeles, Jim spends eternity pumping gas at a filling station until one day when two criminal shades from Jim’s past show up, making his existence take a dangerous turn. With a heady blend of Greek mythology, this graphic novel reveals both the human capacity for self-deception and the endurance of love.
