Phyllis R. Dixon is the author of the novels Forty Acres, Down Home Blues, and Intermission. She also contributed to Chicken Soup for the African American Woman’s Soul. A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she has also lived in Houston, Texas; Pine Bluff, Arkansas; and Minneapolis, Minnesota, but she now calls Memphis, Tennessee, home. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and has three adult children.
