Library Card Application

The Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) serves the residents of Pulaski and Perry Counties, apart from most North Little Rock residents. If you pay property taxes to CALS or are currently enrolled at/employed by an educational institution with at least one campus within our service area, then you are eligible for a CALS library account.

Please be aware that most North Little Rock residents pay taxes to support the North Little Rock Public Library System, which is not a part of the Central Arkansas Library System.

You are eligible for a non-resident CALS card. Non-resident applicants are required to pay an annual non-resident fee equal to the average property tax paid to CALS by those in our service area, which is currently $72 a year. Pro-rated options are available below. This fee will be manually added to your fines once your account has been processed, and you will be sent email instructions on how to pay. You will never be automatically charged.

Please provide your full name as it is written on your government-issued identification.

Authorized users must share a household with the primary cardholder. You may authorize up to ten (10) users on a Multi-User account. Authorized users may check out materials, place/pick up holds, view checked out items, and pay fines. Multi-User accounts receive the same check out limits as individual accounts.

Email notification is the recommended method of contact for holds and overdue items. If you would like an alternate method, please indicate the way in which you would prefer to be notified from the choices below.

Please select your HOME Library. This is the branch you think you'll use most frequently and the default location for items you place on hold to pick up. You can change this any time by editing your profile in our online catalog, by calling us at 501-918-3000, or by visiting any CALS location.
