Library Card Sign Up Month

Since 1987, September has been Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries nationwide join together to remind parents, caregivers, and students that signing up for a library card is the first step towards academic achievement and lifelong learning.

We hope you’ll show your support for public libraries and the important work they do in our communities on both sides of the river by participating in the “Power of the Card” program.

CALS, NLRPLS along with four other county libraries are working together to celebrate Library Card Signup Month in a big way. During September, anyone who stops by one of the participating businesses and presents their library card from CALS, North Little Rock Public Library System, Faulkner County Library, Garland County Library, Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Library, or Saline County Library will receive a discount or special deal.
