COMMUNITY RESOURCES MANAGER – Full-time (40 hour/week). The Central Arkansas Library System is seeking a compassionate and experienced Community Resources Manager to provide leadership and oversight for the Library’s community resources and outreach services. This position supports patrons experiencing life challenges, including homelessness, mental health concerns, and other vulnerable populations, by ensuring services are trauma-informed, equitable, and accessible. Responsibilities include supervising Community Resources Specialists and interns; developing and evaluating the program, building partnerships with community organizations and social service agencies, collecting and reporting program data, and serving as a subject matter expert in trauma-informed care. The Community Resources Manager also assists with assessing ADA compliance, collaborates with internal departments on accessibility initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree in social work. LCSW license required. Must have experience working with diverse and vulnerable populations, and demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience. Must be comfortable working with the public and communicating effectively with a wide variety of audiences. Reliable transportation required. Salary starts at $24.80 per hour annualized to $51,584 and includes excellent benefits such as medical, dental, vision, company paid retirement, life insurance, paid time off, paid parental leave, and holiday pay. CALS USED BOOK SALE AND STORE MANAGER – Full-time (40 hours/week). The Central Arkansas Library System is seeking an enthusiastic, entrepreneurial, and customer service- oriented person to manage the popular CALS Used Book Sale and the library’s forthcoming used bookstore, Library Square Books, to be located at 405 President Clinton Avenue. Primary responsibilities include overseeing all business and logistical operations pertaining to the CALS Used Book Sale and Library Square Books (including day-to-day customer service). The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about helping build a new used bookstore on CALS’s campus and creating a positive experience for all customers. The schedule includes working Tuesday-Saturday. Occasional work on evenings may be required for special events. Salary starts at $23.02 per hour and includes excellent benefits such as medical, dental, vision, company paid retirement, life insurance, paid time off, paid parental leave, and holiday pay. Temporary / Seasonal Positions

SUMMER INTERNS: Central Arkansas Library System is seeking individuals ages 16 years and up with interest in a library career.  Summer interns will learn the fundamentals of working in a public library, including sorting and shelving, working a public-service desk, and assisting with programs for all age groups at various CALS branches. Interns will work 15-20 hours/week to include some evenings, weekends, and special events. Applicants should be team-oriented, high-energy, and be able to interact positively with diverse populations. Interns must successfully pass a background check and be willing to work at an assigned location. The summer internship will last between 8-10 weeks beginning June 1, although starting dates may vary by location. Pay is $15.00/hour.
