Statement on Sustainability

The Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) is committed to being a wise steward of public resources. As part of that commitment, CALS strives for sustainability in our facilities, operations, and services.

In our efforts to achieve sustainability across all levels of our organization, we aim to do the following:

• Incorporate sustainability and energy efficiency into our operating procedures and purchasing decisions.
• Increase our efforts to educate the community about sustainability through our events, programs, and marketing efforts.
• Evaluate our environmental impact, measure results, and communicate them to the public.

Sustainability is an ongoing goal, and this policy will be updated as appropriate.
