Garcia and Johnson
Suzi F. Garcia, an executive editor at Noemi Press, is online editor for the Michigan Quarterly Review and a guest editor for POETRY. Garcia is a Macondista (an alum of the Macondo Writers’ Workshop) and a former board member for the Latinx Caucus. The poems in her chapbook A Homegrown Fairytale engage with The Wizard of Oz, offering a reimagining of coming home after being in a magical land as well as exploring ideas of sexuality, mental illness, Latinidad, and more. Taylor Johnson is from Washington DC and now lives in New Orleans. Their work appears in the Paris Review, the Baffler, Scalawag, and elsewhere. Johnson is a Cave Canem graduate fellow and a recipient of the Larry Neal Writers’ Award from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities. Inheritance is a collection of poems that seeks to think through the ways in which language, ownership, and identity collide.
