CALS is observing National Hispanic Heritage Month like never before with a variety of activities that will make it easy for the entire community to immerse themselves in the rich culture and history of our fellow Americans.
The celebration shares the vibrance and the warmth of the Hispanic community that touches us all, with food, films, art, music, dancing, and more.
CALS celebra el Mes Nacional de la Herencia Hispana como nunca antes con una variedad de actividades que facilitarán que toda la comunidad se sumerja en la rica cultura e historia de nuestros compatriotas estadounidenses.
La celebración comparte la vitalidad y la calidez de la comunidad hispana que nos toca a todos, con comida, películas, arte, música, baile y más.

Nuestra Comunidad: Youth Oral History Training
Come learn skills to conduct oral history interviews with members of the Latine and Hispanic communities from Danielle Afsordeh and Loni Bean! Trainees will receive information on how to conduct an interview and will have access to equipment to facilitate interviews. Trainees can also be paired with another member of the community to interview. Training will be facilitated in English and Spanish.
¡Folklore, Música & Comida!
Join us for a family night of cultural exchange! There will be Mexican Folkloric Ballet performances, paper crafts, snacks and drinks, as well as informational booths.
Yuyi Morales Art Exhibition
The talented award-winning children’s author and illustrator Yuyi Morales is coming to CALS for a program kicking off a wonderful exhibition of her work, that will be on display at the Hillary Rodham Clinton Children’s Library & Learning Center.
