Art teacher Courtney Ford will present a brief art history lesson discussing the works and lives of Gordon Parks and Kara Walker. 3D Design Summer Workshop
Join us for a fun and interactive class where children ages 9-12 will learn the basics of 3D modeling and design to bring ideas to life. We’ll brainstorm, sketch and determine the dimensions of the design, learn how to use Tinkercad to create the model, and 3D print the final designs! Classes occur weekly on Thursdays, June 29 – July 13 and build on one another. Students will print their designs during the last class.

MömandPöp Musical Comedy
Mömandpöp creators, and songwriters Bobby Matthews and Virginia Ralph are Little Rock natives who have been working with kids, music, art, and theatre in some capacity since they met at Arkansas Governor’s School in 1985. After high school, they both attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, during which time Bobby formed beloved Little Rock punk band, Trusty, and Virginia began to work with underground theatre company, Reponde de Capite.

NIFI Dialogue Series – How Should We Prevent Mass Shootings in Our Communities?
The tragic attacks in Uvalde, Texas; Dayton, Ohio; Parkland, Florida; and other places have raised concerns among many people across the nation. Such shootings have become more frequent and more deadly in the last decade. Each mass murder has devastating effects on a whole community.
Overall, the United States has become safer in recent years. Yet mass shooters target innocent people without reason, often in places where people should feel safe—movie theaters, shopping centers, and schools. Many believe these attacks are nothing short of terrorism.

Khole See with the Center for Arkansas Legal Service will present a free legal clinic for all ages. Get free help in preparing Beneficiary Deeds, Affidavit of Small Estate, Power of Attorney, Advance Directives and Guardianships of Minors. The legal team will help prepare the documents and patrons will then have the documents notarized and filed.

Introduction to Ceramics: Hand-Building
Join us for a beginner-friendly ceramics hand-building workshop and discover the joy of creating your own clay masterpieces! Our experienced instructor will guide you through the basics of pinch pots, coil building, and slab construction techniques, allowing you to shape and design your own small-scale clay works. No prior experience is required, and all materials will be provided. Your finished pieces will be fired and available for pick-up from the library front desk two weeks after the workshop.
