After-school enrichment opportunity for teens focusing on science, technology, engineering, art, and math.
First and Third Tuesday of the Month | 4:00 PM
One-hour program with activities, experiments, or design challenges with monthly themes.
May Theme: Asian-American and Pacific Islander History Month–AAPI in STEM
- May 2: Nainoa Thompson and the Science of Wayfinding
- Make a compass and sextant, explore the science of navigation, how Native Hawaiian Nainoa Thompson reconstructed the lost Polynesian Star Compass.
- May 16: Dr. Peter Tsai and the power of N95
- Discover medical contributions of Asian-Americans, like Peter Tsai, inventor of the N95 mask. Test the electrostatic power of N95 and compare its efficacy to cloth and surgical masks.
