Personal Finance Planning
Join us at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, as Kris Bertelsen, senior economic education specialist at the Little Rock branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, provides tips on spending and saving wisely, banking and payment methods, and the importance of emergency funds.
The program is part of a series offered by the Central Arkansas Library System and the Arkansas Financial Education Commission to help attendees better understand the fundamentals of finance while providing the opportunity to have their questions on finance answered. The sessions will be available for viewing later on the CALS YouTube channel.
Kris Bertelsen is a senior economic education specialist with the Little Rock Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, where he helps produce economic and personal finance education materials and speaks to a variety of audiences and conducts professional development for educators. He has served on various boards and committees including the President’s Advisory Council on Financial Literacy, the National Assessment of Educational Progress [NAEP] economics assessment writing committee, author and content reviewer for the Council for Economic Education [CEE], and the Arkansas Department of Education Social Studies Standards Revision Committees. He has served as president of the Arkansas Jump$tart Coalition. Kris graduated from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, earned his Master’s degree in Economic Education and Entrepreneurship from the University of Delaware, and his doctorate from the University of Central Arkansas researching entrepreneurship with corrections populations.
