The Central Arkansas Library System, KUAR, and the League of Women Voters of Pulaski County will host a forum of candidates running for the position of Little Rock mayor at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, October 10, in the Ron Robinson Theater, 100 River Market Avenue. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
All four candidates currently on the ballot will be in attendance: Incumbent Mayor Frank Scott Jr., Steve Landers Sr., Greg Henderson and Glen Schwarz. This particular election has become polarizing among voters and this forum will allow participants to speak directly with the candidates about their concerns.
“The election process is an important democratic institution at both the local and national level. I’m proud that CALS is able to serve the community by being a host to an event that matches the public with their potential city representatives.” said Nate Coulter, Executive Director of CALS.
The last day to register in Arkansas to be able to vote in the upcoming election is October 11, the following day. Voter registration forms will be on hand at the event and will be hand delivered by CALS staff prior to the deadline.
“The League is committed to both registering and educating voters. Having a non-partisan mayoral forum for Little Rock’s citizens will ensure that voters can come to the polls informed and ready to vote. We are excited to be able to participate in this effort with both KUAR and CALS,” said a representative from the League of Women Voters of Pulaski County Leadership Team.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the program begins at 6:30. This event is free, but registration is required. Find more information about the event and reserve seats at cals.org.
