Confused About COVID? Re-Opening With Resiliency
As we re-enter our buildings after the pandemic, what building systems can be addressed to reduce the spread of COVID-19 from airborne particles and surface transmission? This research-based presentation will explore many strategies as well as their impact on efficiency and operation of buildings, occupant wellness, marketing, and occupant perceptions of health: Air Dilution, Advanced Filtration, UV Lighting, Confirmed Infectious Disease Cleaning, Re-Entry Certifications, and Contamination Mitigation Strategies like Touchless Surfaces, Space Layout and Usage BMP’s, Green Cleaning, and Building Performance Dashboards.
About the Presentation
The presentation will start with an overview of the COVID particle size, easy to kill/mitigate, and how it is spread. Then we’ll discuss a variety of strategies to mitigate its effects while exploring their impact on building operation and utility costs. Last, we will discuss bundling this work with other building upgrades, and related financing and certification options. A good portion of the time will be spent answering questions.
- Attendees will be able to describe the size of the COVID-19 virus, how it spreads in buildings, and how it can be mitigated or killed.
- List a variety of strategies to reduce the spread of COVID-19 via airborne particles and surface transmission.
- Understand the relationship of Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) to potential COVID-19 monitoring and transmission in occupied spaces.
- Learn how to utilize building performance dashboards to communicate results and gain trust from building occupants.
