Arkansas Sounds Presents: a Ronnie Hawkins tribute

Join us every Thursday for Arkansas Sounds Presents, a free online watch party of Arkansas music and culture.

On Thursday, April 29 at 7 p.m. CST, CALS Arkansas Sounds presents a tribute to legendary Arkansas rock and roll giant, Ronnie Hawkins! Ronnie Hawkins is a rock and roll and country singer, songwriter and actor who rose fame in the mid-1950s with his band, The Hawks. As a bandleader, Hawkins has been a notable talent scout and mentor to many musicians, including Pat Travers, Robbie Robertson, Richard Manuel, Garth Hudson, Rick Danko, and fellow Arkansans Roy Buchanan and Levon Helm. Hawkins, a long-time resident of Canada, was awarded The Order of Canada in 2013 and he is a member of the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. Our playlist celebrates the legacy of this Huntsville, Arkansas native with rare performances and interviews.

FREE to watch! You can join us from anywhere in the world as this is a virtual event: https://app.kosmi.io/room/nhog0f
