On Thursday, April 1 at 7 p.m. CST, CALS Arkansas Sounds Presents a birthday tribute to legendary Arkansas country music giant, Jim Ed Brown! Jim Ed Brown was a country singer-songwriter who rose fame in the 1950s with his two sisters as a member of The Browns. Brown, a long-time member of the Grand Ole Opry and a 2015 inductee into the Country Music Hall of Fame, started a successful solo career in 1965 and had a string of major solo hits as well as multiple duet hits with country music vocalist Helen Cornelius. Brown went on to become the host of several syndicated radio and television programs on country music. Our playlist celebrates the April 1st birthday of this Sparkman, Arkansas native with a rare performances and interviews.
