A Celebration of William Grant Still

Arkansas Sounds presents: a celebration of William Grant Still

Arriving in Little Rock as an infant in 1895, William Grant Still went on to become the most important African-American classical music composer. In celebration of the 125th anniversary of his birth, we honor Still’s legacy with a screening of the documentary, A Voice High-Sounding: The Life & Career of William Grant Still. The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra’s Quapaw Quartet will perform a selection of Still’s music followed by a panel discussion on Still’s story and legacy.

Admission is FREE! Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Event starts at 7:00 p.m. Beer, wine, and concessions will be available.
