Camp Educate

Register today for those professional development hours here at the Central Arkansas Library System for free! These educational workshops are happening for 2 weeks in July and are separated into a beginner week and an advanced week. Come the whole week or pick and choose which classes interest or will benefit you most. The beginner week is from July 10-14 and the advanced week is July 24-28. Each week is designed to help educators try new things and develop the skills needed to succeed in their fields. This bootcamp focuses on topics such as classroom management, instructional strategies, technology integration, assessment, and curriculum design. Everyone will have the opportunity to interact with their peers, engage in problem-solving activities, and receive feedback on their work.

In the beginner week we’ll do such classes as Unlocking the Power of Google Classroom, Creating Fun and Engaging Bitmoji and Snapchat Experiences, Getting Started with Google Sheets, Make a Video Confessional with Flipgrid, and Engaging Visuals with Canva. Each of these classes have very specific uses and little set up for you to use in the classroom right away. (printable list here)

In the advanced week we’ll do such classes as A Virtual Brain Break with Google Slides, Getting Started with Minecraft: Education Edition, Exploring the World: A Virtual Field Trip Adventure, Using Infographics to Read and Teach, and Inclusive Teaching with Virtual Choice Boards. These courses have a little more set up time, but can be taught for a variety of subject matters, and have endless possibilities for both the educator as well as students. (printable list here)

The goal of the bootcamp is to help educators become more effective in their roles and to be better prepared to meet the needs of their students. Make it happen and register today! Join CALS Main Library in Technology Classroom A and online through Zoom to and earn 2 hours of professional develop for each class.
