The future of the CALS Used Book Sale

Earlier this year, CALS announced that Main Library would be closing temporarily to undergo an extensive renovation. That change created a domino effect of moves and adjustments, including (but not limited to) the closing of the Galleries & Bookstore so that Main Library services could move into that space (read about the move here).

Book donations have moved, but that’s good news!

Way back in 2019, (does anyone even remember that time anymore?) CALS accepted book donations at all of the branches. Due to the pandemic, we stopped accepting donations at all. And when we started taking them again, we were only accepting donations at Main Library since the used book sale takes place in the Main Library basement.

Friends of the Library Week

Friends of the Library Week is October 16 – 22. “Friends of the Library” are individuals who purchase annual memberships and those dues go toward funding some important programming, like the book festival, book club kits and some of the Arkansas Sounds Concerts. At the Central Arkansas Library System, we call them Friends of CALS.
