July FOCAL Book Sale Offers Additional Discounts to Teachers and Librarians
Teachers and librarians with school identification will receive an extra 25% off their purchases in the Main Library basement during FOCAL's used book sale July 16-18. FOCAL members will receive 50% off "gently read" books throughout the sale and 25% off new books and merchandise at River Market Books & Gifts.
Shelves are filled with great books in every genre, with paperback books at $.50 and hardback books at $1. Bargain boxes of 25 books are available for $1 each. Special sections featured during this sale include summer beach reads, the Left Behind series, and many VHS movies and audio books on cassette.
The sale will begin with a members-only Preview Party on Thursday, July 15, from 5- 7 p.m. at River Market Books & Gifts. Memberships are available at the door. RMB&G is the largest used book store in the area, and has an excellent selection of books on three floors.
FOCAL members can shop the Main Library basement from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday; the sale opens to the public at 10 a.m. Sale hours on Sunday are 1-4 p.m. for everyone. Sale hours at River Market Books & Gifts are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 1-5 p.m. Sunday. The Main Library is located at 100 Rock Street, and River Market Books & Gifts is located at 120 Commerce Street. For more information about the sale, call 918-3000.
